OLNEY, ILL. - Mt. Carmel won its second softball game of the year Tuesday.The Lady Aces won at Olney by a 5-4 margin.

Scoreless after four innings, Mt. Carmel (2-3) exploded for three runs in the fifth inning, a key blow belonging to Eryn Gould, who hit a home run as part of her 4-for-4 day at the plate. 

Olney (7-6) came back to tie the score with three runs of its own in the home half of the fifth. But, the Lady Aces jumped ahead to stay in the top of the sixth when Gould stroked a 2-run double to put the visitors up, 5-3.

The Lady Tigers scored once in the bottom of the sixth, but could get no closer against Mt. Carmel reliever Kasey Pearson, who picked up the save. Ella Banks got the win in the circle.
Carmen Deisher was 3-for-4 at the plate for the Lady Aces, with two singles and a double.
Olney was led by Sarah Hill with three hits and two RBIs and Caitlin Monts with three hits.
