PRINCETON, Ind. - Boonville was the class of the Big 8 Conference boys track meet on Thursday. The Pioneers won the league title by a comfortable margin.

The 126 points scored by Boonville was enough for a 43-point win, but five teams were jumbled closely after that. Mt. Vernon was second with 83 points, followed by Vincennes Lincoln with 79 points, Jasper with 73 and Washington wit 66 points. Princeton took sixth with 53 points, ahead of Mt. Carmel (12 points).

The Aces had two individuals and one relay score their points in the meet. Gabe Margelin finished third in the discus with a heave of 121-feet 2-inches. Tony Miller took fifth in the shot put with a distance of 43-feet 7-inches. The lone points on the track came in the 4x100 relay, where the unit of Sean Hindeliter, Shaun Flickenger, Devin Tomblinson and Cameron Peach finished fourth at 46.07 seconds.

Darreen Peach’s team next runs on Friday, May 17 at the IHSA Class 2A Sectional meet at Champaign Centennial. Field events begin at 4:30 p.m.
