The Mt. Carmel Soccer Association is seeking contributions and donations to help support the high school and traveling soccer teams.
The MCHS Golden Aces will begin their 26th season this fall. Gill Sanders, president of the Soccer Association, wrote in a letter to soccer fans that “Mt. Carmel has had several talented players to receive acknowledgement at the SISL Showcase and at the collegiate level.”
The group annually raises between $8,000 to $10,000 to help fund the team’s operations. The traveling teams are a pilot for the high school teams, and “we are excited to incorporate the U-11 and U-14 traveling teams into the soccer program,” Sanders wrote. The teams travel around the tri-state to play teams in their age groups.
The association works hard to ensure that the Aces have the best playing field available. Currently, there is a concession building on one side of the playing field. A scoreboard and an irrigation system was installed a few years ago.
Sanders writes that the money raised this year will go towards new bleachers and player benches for the high school and junior high teams.
Those who would like to donate to the Mt. Carmel Soccer Association may contact treasurer Carol Kieffer, or mail your contribution to Kieffer at 215 Cherry Hill Dr. in Mt. Carmel.
