The Jr Aces soccer team traveled to Washington to play their final regular season game against Washington Catholic and came away with a 4 - 0 win.

Austen Staley scored the first goal in the 12th minute on an assist by Carmen Deisher. Weston DeShon scored the second goal 1 minute later on an assist by Simon Berberich. Deisher then scored on an assist by Brayden Stipp for a 3 - 0 halftime score. Stipp scored the final goal 10 minutes into the second half for the 4 - 0 lead.

We played a pretty strong first half, where we played aggressively and with purpose. Once we got the 4 goal lead we seemed to coast a little bit, which shouldn't happen, but overall this was the best we'd looked for at least a week. Hopefully, we'll continue to play more like the first half team as we begin tournament play this week.

The win brings the Aces final regular season record to 8 - 1 - 1 in SIJHSC play. The season ending tournament starts on Wednesday when the Aces travel to Washington again to play the #1 seeded Hatchets. This will be the 2nd meeting between the two teams this year, after the first game ended with a 1 - 0 loss for the Aces. The Aces and the Hatchets, along with Jasper and Pike Central, were placed in Group A, which is made up of the top 4 teams in the league this season. This placement gives the Aces a chance to be the top team in the tournament this year if they win their group.
