The Mt Carmel Junior Aces soccer team got the spring season off to a solid start by defeating Albion 5-1 on Tuesday night at the WVC soccer field.
Brayden Stipp started the scoring with a goal 90 seconds into the match on an assist by Kylie Terrel. Terrel followed that score with one of his own three minutes later on an assist by Ryan Webb. Webb followed suit in the game’s 28th minute with an unassisted goal followed four minutes later by Stipp, scoring his second goal on an assist by Cole Linson.
Mt. Carmel (1-0) led 4-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Isaac Wilson scored in the 51st minute on a rebound off of a shot by Grady Wilkinson that hit the crossbar. Albion scored its lone goal with five minutes left to account for the final score.
The Junior Aces, coached by Ed Berberich, took 18 shots on the game.
