Wabash Valley’s 94-88 win over Lincoln Trail Wednesday further muddied the picture for next week’s Region 24 tournament.
The Warriors know they are in a play-in game. The owdds are they will again play LTC, but the game could be at Spencer Sports Center again, depending on how the final day of the regular-season plays out Saturday.
WVC (11-18, 5-11 in Great Rivers Athletic Conference) had its lead trimmed to 88-85 before four free throws down the stretch secured the win.
“I was happy for our guys. Glad they won,” said Wabash Valley coach Mike Carpenter. “We still have a chance to win a first-round game.”
WVC won despite a 3-point barrage by Lincoln Trail (13-15, 6-9). The Statesmen hit 16-of-30 arc line shots for an impressive 53 percent mark.
The Warriors got 23 points from Brienne Miles. Sam Thompson added 17 points.
WVC plays at Shawnee Saturday at 3 p.m.
