Reliever Erik Swanson shut down a ninth inning rally by Volunteer State, Tenn. to preserve a 6-4 Wabash Valley baseball victory on Wednesday.

WVC (23-8) has now won four games in a row. Kyle Rupe (3-1), the second of five hurlers used by Warrior manager Rob Fournier, picked up the victory after taking the ball from left-handed Ohio University commit Spencer Sapp in the fourth inning.

Freshman centerfielder Manuel DeJesus was 2-for-2 with two RBIs to lead the offensive attack for Wabash Valley.

Volunteer State is now 16-15 on the season.
