JUPITER, Fla. — Former Wabash Valley College pitcher Keith Butler continues to impress this spring with the St. Louis Cardinals.
The 6-foot righthander from Morgantown, Ky., drafted out of WVC in 2009, has made three appearances out of the bullpen for the Cardinals. He has not been scored upon in three innings of work, and has allowed just two hits while striking out four.
Opponents are batting just .182 against the 24-year-old. Butler has not earned a decision as of yet.
Butler was added to the Cardinals 40-man roster after an impressive 2012 campaign, when he converted on 30 of 31 save opportunities for Springfield, Mo. in Class AA.
