Mt. Carmel came up empty in the scoring column in back-to-back road games against southern Indiana baseball powers this week.

Wednesday in their Big 8 Conference opener at Jasper, the Aces collected only two hits in a 12-0 loss. The host Wildcats used two three-run homers to power their way to the win.

Mt. Carmel (1-4, 0-1) had even more trouble Tuesday in a game at Gibson Southern, getting only one hit - from Cort Rodgers - against two Titan hurlers. The final there was also 12-0.

The week-long varsity road trip continues Friday at Olney, with a game Saturday at Carmi. The JV team hosts Gibson Southern today at 4:30 p.m. at Dee White Field.
