At Wood Memorial, I thought we were a 'little flat' at the beginning of the night.  I was concerned that we lacked focus for the match, but we quick gained what we needed to compete and do well.  We had some great matchups with them, and I saw some great wrestling from our kids.  We showed confidence and we had success, which are two things that we want so we can build on that for later in the year.  We still need to continue to have great practices, and continue to gain confidence.  I thought Logan Johnson wrestled extremely well, especially for a freshman, and it is great to see him developing into to a great asset to this team.

At Mount Vernon, we did very well with the level of competition there.  When you go up against Evansville Reitz, Mount Vernon, Boonville, and Tecumseh wrestlers in one night, you will have your hands full.  Our kids responded great and saw success.  All the kids that went, gained valuable mat experience, and at that's what is needed to develop a wrestler.  Some of these JV wrestlers could break in to the Varsity line up if they keep progressing the way that they are.

Next Match:

12/1/12 - AWAY - Lawrence County Tourney (varsity only) @ 9:00 AM
12/4/12 - HOME - North Knox (varisty / jv) @ 5:30 PM

Aces wrestlers open with 2 wins

For Mt. Carmel’s wrestlers, it looked like last year all over again - the end of last year, rather than the beginning. The Aces opened the season on Tuesday night looking a lot like the dual-winning machine they became last year, by defeating Owensboro, Ky. Senior and Fairfield at the Hilltop.
