Bret Doan throws no-hitter

Bret Doan threw the first no-hitter of the Major League season Monday night, leading Dersch Energies to an 11-0, four-inning win over TSC Construction.

Doan, who has already thrown a one-hitter this season, struck out nine batters en route to the gem. He gave up five walks.

That wasn’t it for Doan, who is perhaps best known for his hitting. He got Dersch off and running in the first with a 2-run home run. His teammates picked him up in the second, scoring seven runs to give Doan a big cushion to work with on the mound.

Doan, Alex Calverley, Luke Hall and J.T. Nash each scored two runs for Dersch, while Caleb Norrick, Dustan Jones and T.J. Mobley added single runs.
